I cleaned up the engine and painted it to match the bikes color scheme. After that I swapped out the BING carburetor for this PHBG style carburetor. It had a bad crankshaft bearing that was the cause of the noise. I opened it up and replaced the bearings. 210 Builds Pipe: Stock Pipe 1 LIKES 1 Likes Follow Build. Upgraded the front suspension from some stock Free Spirit forks to a set of traditional EBR forks. I created new decals for the build and sourced OEM headlight and taillight. After throwing them on the color choices were black or white for the tank and covers. I had these powder-coated wheels for some time waiting for a Puch build. The wheels and frame determined the colorway. I like the original look of the Puch Magnum LTD, that was my vision for this but in a black and white colorway.

Puch maxi owners workshop manual old style haynes, published by j. 1978 puch magnum kromag sears free spirit moped. I was lucky enough to get the fenders and rack with the bike, but they were not installed and had rust. 1978 PUCH MAGNUM KROMAG SEARS FREE SPIRIT MOPED ET. I stripped all the original paint and decals then painted them gloss black. Surface rust was coming through the paint on the tank. I’m happy to say that the bike turned out exactly as I imagined it would in my head. I had a few Puch parts collected over some time that are new but had just been stored away. When I got the magnum, it was running and ready to ride but just did not look good in my opinion.
This Moped is available for sale in Houston Texas. This is a mild custom build, for the most part, it is very original looking. At first glance, the two builds are very similar. I wanted to build something similar but a little different. After sharing that build on this site, I had the opportunity to build a magnum myself. This Puch Magnum MKII build was inspired by a previous post of the Pretty bombers Magnum.
